Starting out in1969 as an apprentice diesel mechanic with the New Zealand Government at age15 Al was, within a couple of years, transfered to the developing inner Auckland motorway system as a field service mechanic involved in earthmover engine, transmission, differential, welding, fabrication and maintence of the Ministry of Works fleet of Caterpillar, International and Terex, and other earthmoving equipment and an introduction to the Detroit Diesel Supercharger. A natural cross application has resulted in over 37 years of performance Street and Race Supercharger experience.
