New Zealand has
a rich automotive history with almost every type of motorsport
including Road Racing, Drag Racing, Sprint Car Racing, Stock Car
Racing, Boat racing, Rallying, Go Kart Racing and you name it.
American Cars were
imported and sold through dealerships from right back to the Motel T
and this has provided for a rich hot rodding scene that started back in
the mid to late 50's
'Al'
First Started out in 1969 as a diesel mechanic on heavy equipment, and
soon after became involved in hot rodding and drag racing. He started
Als Blower Drives in 1982 and since that time has been providing the
local guys with a blower Shop dedicated to street and race blower and
drive component preparation. Along with building engines for street to
race from std 4bbl to blown alcohol engines for customers, 'Al'
provided specialized machining and race chassis work which eventually
led Al along with brother Bruce to build from a flat table up their own
full chrome moly tubed Blown Alcohol 358ci small block powered 'Wild
Bunch' 68 Camaro race car.
