DUAL INLINE SETUPS
The SC520Streetcatcher 'as supplied' is set up to operate the butterflies by 'pushing forward' on the 'dummy barrel valve' inside arm. This arrangement is designed with the barrel valve mounted with the shaft toward the top and will work with dual in-line Holley and Edelbrock carburetor setups with the standard universal type carburetor side linkage. The SC520Streetcatcher is shipped complete with all rod ends and links for this arrangement and operates the butterflies from the rear carburetor.
DUAL SIDEWAYS MOUNT SETUPS
However if you want to operate the butterflies by 'pulling back, or down' on the dummy barrel valve inside arm, you can, by simply mounting the barrel valve upside down with the barrel valve shaft toward the bottom. This arrangement can be beneficial on dual sideways mounted carburetors.
A 1 3/4"long threaded link is provided, however, you will need to procure another 3/16 female rod end to complete this modification. Any local bearing supply house will have these - (ask for a " female rod end with a 10-32 thread, or 3/16" fine is another way of describing this thread).

BUTTERFLY AND BARREL VALVE ARM POSITION
When fitting the butterfly operating arms, first set the butterfly's so that they are slightly out at the bottom (about 5 degrees) like a real injector. Then locate the small machined groove on the end of the butterfly shaft, this will position the barrel arm on the butterfly shaft in the right position by the securing the grub screw. Both butterfly arm and barrel valve arm must be set on the same plane at a 45 degree angle up to your right (looking at the left side of the scoop) between the 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock position, this will look similar to a real injector and allow the arms to rotate down through a 90 degree arc as they operate.
WARNING: IMPORTANT NOTE!!
(Looking side on at the left side of the scoop) Do not set the barrel arms straight back level with the scoop in the 3 o'clock position when the butterflies are closed, and when the carb is in the idle position.
THIS SETTING CAN CAUSE THE TOP BARREL VALVE ARM/LINKAGE TO JAM IN THE WIDE OPEN POSITION, AND STRAIGHTEN UP HOLDING THE THROTTLE OPEN!! . ALSO BE CAREFUL TO CHECK THAT NO OTHER PART OF THE THROTTLE LINKAGE SYSTEM IS SET UP IN SUCH A WAY THAT ANY ARM/LINK COMBINATION CAN STRAIGHTEN UP AND 'OVERCENTER' AND JAM THE THROTTLE OPEN.
